About the Academy:
Back Creek Christian Academy is a ministry of Back Creek Presbyterian Church. The Academy grew out of the vision of parents who saw the need for an academically challenging, Christ-centered school to be located in the heart of the fast growing and culturally rich University area.
The Academy embraces a classical approach to curriculum and instruction. Saxon phonics based reading instruction, humanities based literature and Shurley English serve to build a strong language arts program, while Everyday Math encourages excellence in geometric and algebraic thinking. History and science curriculums incorporate Bob Jones, Abeka and teacher directed reading selections to create an integrated approach to instruction. The environment at Back Creek Christian Academy is structured yet flexible enough to be developmentally appropriate. Small class sizes allow teachers to adapt to individual student needs.
The Academy opened its doors in 1999 with 13 Kindergarten students and has followed a measured approach to growth, adding approximately one grade-level each subsequent year. This fall the Academy will enroll 195 students in Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Is BCCA is a Christian school?
BCCA is a Christian school. We start with the assumption that this is God’s world. Students are challenged to see His work in the world.
Students are created by God and are challenged to see themselves and others as created in His image.
Students are encouraged to develop a Christian view of the world.
What type of school is BCCA??
BCCA is a classical school. We emphasize the basics of every subject area - the grammar of that subject.
Learning is integrated. Students are challenged to look for the connections in knowledge. History provides the structure for the organization of learning.
We teach Latin beginning in third grade.
