Admissions/Financial Policies
Back Creek Christian Academy desires the proper placement of students within its academic structure. Because of this, all applicants are evaluated to determine readiness for admission to the Academy. Teachers from the appropriate grade levels will administer appropriate screening.
Children entering kindergarten or first grade must have had appropriate birthdays on or before October 15. For example, a child seeking admission to first grade must have had his or her sixth birthday on or before October 15 of the year admitted. If a child's ability, behavior or emotional development indicate that he or she could not be best served by our school program, the Academy reserves the right to deny admission.
No child will be denied enrollment because of gender, race, color, national or ethnic origin.
There is a one-time, non-refundable application fee of $50.00 for each student who applies to Back Creek Christian Academy. This fee will not be reassessed for any student who advances into the next grade at the Academy. There is an annual Registration Fee for each child who is accepted or placed on the waiting list. The Registration Fee for the 2006-2007 school year is $300.00 and is payable in whole or may be spread out over three months Jan-Mar. The fee is refundable before May 1 at 75% in the event that your child does not attend the Academy. Additional requests for money may be made during the year for field trips, special events, pictures, etc.
BCCA is approved for scholarships through the Children's Scholarship Fund, a private group offering scholarships to approved schools in the Charlotte area. Additional scholarship help is available if certain criteria is met. Please inquire for further information.
What students do we accept?
Admission to BCCA is open to any students regardless of race, gender or nationality.
The diversity of the students and faculty is important to BCCA.
All students participate in a screening to determine their ability to fit with the accelerated program at BCCA.
What does my child need to know for the Kindergarten screening?
Children must be able to focus on learning. He/she should be familiar with letters, numbers, sequencing, and finding patterns. The student should be ready for social settings and be able to cooperate with the teacher.
What if my child has a learning disability or diagnosis of attention deficit?
Each student is screened and evaluated on his/her own abilities. Each child’s situation is considered alone on the basis of that child and the make up of the class applied for.
